Feeding the correct diet to your rabbit is essential for maintaining good health. Rabbits require high fibre levels in their diet to aid normal digestive function and aid essential dental wear.

Mr Johnson’s Supreme TROPICAL FRUIT RABBIT MIX is a complementary feed for rabbits and should be fed together with unlimited access to good quality hay which is a good source of fibre and an essential part of your rabbit’s diet.  A small quantity of fresh should also be fed daily and fresh clean water should always be available.

Overcoming selective feeding:
Rabbits, if overfed, can sometimes selectively feed and may leave their less favourite ingredients in the bowl until last, resulting in an unbalanced diet and nutritional deficiency.
To help overcome selective feeding your rabbit should be fed twice a day, dividing their daily requirements into two meals, feeding morning and evening but only refilling the bowl once empty.
Changing your rabbits diet
Your rabbit’s diet should never be altered suddenly as abrupt changes could trigger digestive upsets, especially in baby rabbits or rabbits that are stressed (for example if they have moved to a new home). If you want to alter your rabbit’s diet, it is recommended that this change takes place gradually over a 7-10 day period. This can be done by mixing small quantities of the new food with their existing food and increasing the proportions until it is fully changed over.
Feeding Guide:
Rabbit Size  Quantity
Small (0.5 - 1Kg)  20 to 50g/day
Medium (1 - 2.5Kg)  50 to 75g/day
Large (2.5 - 5Kg)  75 to 100g/day
Giant (5Kg+)  100 to 125g/day
This is a guide only.
A Rabbit's diet should be made up of a high proportion of fresh clean hay an essential fibre source and mimics their natural diet in the wild. This should be fed along with Supreme TROPICAL FRUIT rabbit mix to ensure rabbits receive a balanced diet that meets their dietary needs.
